Wednesday & Saturday Cobblestone Farmers Market Drive-Thru

Felsbeck Farm is closed for orders to be delivered to the Drive-Thru booths until Spring 2021

what's happening at the farm: October - to Year-End 2020

Notes for the week:

The farm is not producing much at this time of year, so we have decided to close out the twice-weekly Drive-Thru ordering until April 2021.  If you see a plant or shrub in which you have an interest, please call 336.414.8892 .

About Us

image65

Plants, Herbs & Shrubs

In addition to our vegetables , fruits & nuts in season, we grow a wide variety of culinary,  traditional & uncommon medicinal herbs, ornamental  potted plants, hanging baskets, butterfly bushes, roses & mini roses, scented geraniums, other shrubs, and many "just plain pretties," for indoor or outdoor enjoyment. ,

Produce, Fruit and Nuts

We have six fields for growing a variety of produce, including sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, crookneck squashes and zucchinis, cucumbers,  a variety of potatoes, collards, cabbages, broccoli,  green beans and field peas, and more, in their seasons, all of which are  non-GMO and grown using organic methods.  In the orchard & about the farm are heirloom and popular varieties of apples, cherries, plums, pears, peaches, paw-paws, persimmons, blueberries & blackberries, service berries, raspberries and gooseberries, American chestnuts, pecans, black walnuts & hazelnuts.  In 2021, we hope the goji berry, figs and kumquat shrubs will begin producing fruit.

Sadly, thanks to a late freeze, we will not have paw-paws available for 2020, and many of our other fruits, and some vegetables,  ( including the persimmons) will be in short supply this year.

Welcome to our online store

Online Ordering Options

We  accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit/debit cards, plus payments via PayPal's services.  We ask that for Wednesday's Cobblestone Market Drive-Thru orders, please wait until  Monday to place your order, giving us time to check for volume and quality of the veggies or fruit to be picked.

For Saturday Cobblestone Market Drive-Thru pick-up, open between 9 and Noon into late autumn, we will be checking the fields on Thursday for final counts of availability not already promised for orders, so please place your orders after mid-morning on Thursday,  to take advantage of the latest counts for item availability.  With the searing heat and violent thunderstorms, our stressed plants are not producing as they normally would do, or at least as we would hope they should do.

For Saturday pick-up, all orders must be placed by 5  PM, Friday, please.

If you have placed an online order, but circumstances make pick-up impossible, or you wish to switch to a later pick-up date, PLEASE text 336-416-3272 for alternative  arrangements BEFORE Noon Wednesday for Wednesday Drive-Thru, or BEFORE 8 PM on Friday for Saturday Drive-Thru or market booth pick-up.

Occasionally, we will have special items available with separate deadlines and limited volume for ordering, such as corn.  Please work with us that we might provide you with the items you desire,  when we do set a time limit for placing orders.  Farm productivity is as capricious as the weather, and we are the only two available to work through any issues that arise .

You  have two opportunities to purchase fresh vegetables, fruit in season, and potted plants/herbs, as available, through the Cobblestone Market Drive-Thru options and by special request, directly from the farm with delivery to be arranged between J. French and the customer.

Felsbeck Farm will not have a booth  at the Cobblestone market on Saturday mornings, (open 8.30 AM till Noon) at this time.

COVID-19 Precautions

Should you visit us at the farm, to pick up an order, or for a prearranged tour, we will be using face masks and possibly also gloves.  We ask that all  farm visitors please wear masks  covering nose and mouth securely. This is a state mandate, and our farm policy.  Cloth bandanas and face shields only, without masks, are not acceptable alternatives.

Taking advantage of beneficial insects

Besides growing for your table and garden, we are replacing original trees, shrubs and plants that were here before European settlers cleared the land for their traditional crops and structures.  The May 2017 tornado did substantial damage, but  allows us to do more effective erosion control on our mountainside farm.

Special for Summer 2020:

$2.00
Pay with PayPal or a debit/credit card

NOTICE: This reflects the current cost per pound of  cucumbers, crookneck squashes and zucchinis.  In response to the difficult circumstances so many of our customers have faced this year, we have returned to 2014 prices (not all of which are $2.00/lb.) for potatoes,  cucumbers, crookneck squashes, zucchinis, sun-ripened tomatoes, green beans and sweet corn.  The cost of our potted plants, established and newly sprouted herbs, and the available shrubs also reflect our desire to assist our customers in obtaining the plants they wish at as reasonable a price as possible.

Felsbeck Farm, veteran owned and operated at this location

We use approved organic methods, in growing our vegetables, herbs, and fruit. (The farm is currently in transition  for organic certification.)  We grow sustainably,  in support of the land, while providing erosion control and continuity, so the spring-fed streams remain clear and life-sustaining.
